I say that because while it is a great product and I do highly recommend it. Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fiskars 29 Inch Machete Axe at Amazon.com. I haven't used it enough yet to see how well it holds an edge long-term, so I'm hesitant to give it 5 stars as of yet. It's a little bulky for hiking, but I'll be giving it a try soon. This was absolutely the start of the show. Like I said, this is a great manufactured blade. For larger branches, say to an inch the axe part will work but I wouldn't use this as an axe as a matter of safety; this is a machete and it cuts like a blade not like a real axe wedge.
Excellet garden machete and brush axe! It is NOT a great hiking/expedition tool.Cheaply made out of stamped metal. 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Fiskars is just right.

It was not very sharp. Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations

Customer Review: Fiskars 29 Inch Machete Axe. I also get the feeling that some people reviewing this product are hacking away at some thick trees and brush and completely ruining the machete.

The blade is long and well shaped but thin (1/16") and flexes easily. Recently received this Machete-Axe monstrosity, and spent a good portion of the day clearing a crap-ton of small trees, brush, briars, etc. and you'll be good to go, then go get a chainsaw for the really big suckers. I liked the shape. I love the color and how all the Fiskars outdoor tools coordinate with each other. It is fairly heavy and has a large grip area for one- or two-handed use.
Didn't cut off the tops of simple bushes. Prime members enjoy FREE Delivery and exclusive access to music, movies, TV shows, original audio series, and Kindle books. Looked like it was hollow ground but the "edge" was about 1/32" flat. There is no scabbard to put it in before or after you use it!

Then a few seconds later the top slowly slid off the base of the stalk like it was in an action movie. And I hope most people know that this machete DOES NOT come sharpened. Very comfortable handle, about the best I have used, and I put a lot of time on the handle end of several different machetes. The steel isn't very good so the resulting edge will function OK but is nothing special.Fiskars machete sharp as hell, quality materials, and ... The bottom part of the axe head is sharpened and works very well as a brush and vine hook. Select your address Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2017. Hard to top the Brush Axe, and I'm not saying it did, but it's up there and a great tool for the right job. I don't see why so many people are whining about the quality of it.

Fiskars machete sharp as hell, quality materials, and almost 2 feet long. That's what I got it for.

I've used things like this in the past and did try to push it to its limits, fully expecting the thing to snap in half, fly off, and clip my jugular. However, for chopping brush, it is the best thing I have used so far.

Apparently this scabbard works and I have ordered it - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040I0ITG/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 BOTH of mine came well-sharpened, but sharpen to your taste.

Seemed like it would be useful for clearing brush and vines. All in all a fine machete for the money and should perform well.

What more could you ask? If you are trail blazing through the amazon, you may want to try something else. I've been using a Fiskars Brush Axe for years, and it is one of the best tools for clearing vines, tall grasses, chopping, and trail clearing. I have the Gerber, the Bear Gryls, several kuhrkuri, etc.

This looks like something a bored D&D fan would draw during algebra class but it does a real number on blackberry branches. No problem here! 5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars!
