Directed by Stephen Chiodo. Because Arrow films no longer package a collector's booklet with this film. Sure, it's staged and performed like all those 'B'-grade movies you may have seen at a drive-in theatre, but that's the point. As the title says clowns come to earth and wreak havoc with the teens.

Packed full of outrageous ingenuity, this spoof of 50's B Movies works on almost every level, delivering the perfect movie for a night in with some friends and a few beers. This is a prime example a cheap movie that ended up being something a lot of people rented on VHS tapes because of the cover and the name.
I've loved this film since the first time I saw it almost 20 years ago.
The acting is pretty awful and the story is rather short. The Chiodo Brothers (Stephen, Charles and Edward) are legends of the makeup and Animatronics fields - From the base '80s-ness of "Critters" to the low-brow satire that is "Team America : World Police" they have reigned supreme in this department, giving even Screaming Mad George a slight run for his money.
Its up to a group of teens to find a way to stop the clown aliens and destroy the UFO. I gave this film a 5 star as it is truly enjoyable and very memorable.

A better movie now than when I first saw it. A superbly dark comic B Movie of the 80's that has dated slightly, but who cares it's still quite memorable for it's way of introducing us to menacing clown aliens that everyone thinks they are at the start just clowns. If you're looking for a horror film, you're out of luck as this movie leans heavily into the comedy side of horror comedy, save for a few impressive PG-13 gore gags. Nice features and good transfer. I think a lot of people "bonded" with this movie because of when it came out and the current nostalgia.
