Because Sandy’s brother is a sheriff, they get away with their terrible deeds, but when they cross Arvin toward the end of the book when he returns home after fleeing town and they try to kill him, he shoots them both.At this point in the book, it's not exactly uncharacteristic for him and, when the sheriff attempts to shoot him, Arvin kills him too. You have serial killers, evangelicals and worse in the saga of young man coming of age. Honestly one of the best books ive read this year and ive read alot! This is a writer operating on another level. .
