Catalina Express operates round-trip service to Avalon and Two Harbors from our Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point terminals.

I took the Catalina Express to the island from Long Beach on July 25th at 7:00 AM and returned on July 26th at 4:15 PM. There was NO social distancing and the boat was packed in. Again, if you want on Catalina you gotta get there.

I have been to Catalina many times and had a great time but this was a BIG, expensive, mistake. On the website it said they had reduced capacity to provide for distancing.

I needed a ride to the airport so I signed up with them. Also, they oversold the loubge since there was no way to properly distance.

If we do not get COVID I will be shocked.This is the terminal in Long Beach to take the Catalina Express to Catalina Island. Can't distance when your face is 3 feet away from a strangers face. Telling people to sit right next to each other for the 1 hour boat ride, saying "we are trying to make room for more". The employees did their best to "remind" people to do the right thing but most were not. You can choose to go through Dana Point, San Pedro or Long Beach. Everyone was required to wear a mask. All I had was a picture of it on my phone. Taking pictures along the beaches in Avalon.

Back.Came here on a Saturday to get to Catalina Island. Catalina Express does allow 1 pet per adult. Great technology with the sound system and iPad hooked up to TV with a party camera and camcorder to film our moments on the bus etc. Eventually one manager called back, and instructed the agents to scan the bar code in my picture to issue tickets. I can't ask for more. On Saturday when we arrived at Catalina Express Long Beach, the agent behind the counter was sympathetic towards our situation. No temperature checks, closed rows or any form of social distancing while zoos, aquariums and botanical gardens remain either closed or have to function at low capacity and take strict precautions to keep people safe. Most people had their mask around their chins or under their noses. She did not give up. We took the Catalina Express July 10th 2020. They really did all they could to help accommodate. They seriously have the cleanest cars and most considerate drivers. This is a fun and pretty affordable way to go to Catalina Island at $74.50 for adult round trip ticket, $ 59.00 for a child age 2-11. There is no doubt Catalina Express will contribute to more cases and this is unaccepatble.They get you coming and going, so to say.

Take a trip to paradise and enjoy some tranquility that only being on “Island Time” can offer.
